Hi,
We are proud owners of our first Lexus: RX350 Stargazer Black with light gray interior. It is primarily my car, but will serve as the family truckster to cart around our 6yr old son & our 3yr old black lab.
I have driven an SUV for the past 10 years (Explorer, Saab 9-7X) & was tired of the truck feel & the gas guzzling V8s. Since we don't have a large family, I figured it was time to explore the possibility of a smaller SUV. After researching the marketplace, I found there wasn't a lot out there that I liked. (too big, too small, too ugly, too expensive, etc). The RX seemed perfect (the Acura MDX was my 2nd choice). My husband was skeptical of the RX's size; he preferred the "look" & size of the GX, but at this time, it was not in our budget. Our biggest concern: fitting our dog's large Vari-Kennel in the back, along with our normal cargo for our family road trips. The dimensions seemed to add up, however, today I decided to give it a try, now that the car is part of the family.
Well, I am thrilled: the kennel fits!! Sure, the seats need to go down (but they did in our last SUV, too) & there isn't a ton of room back there, but it will work
!
So, not only do I love my new RX for all it's creature comforts & sleek styling, but it is also a practical family vehicle.

Oddly, the RX has more cargo room with seats donw then the older GX460. Not sure if they made the GX470 bigger.
We went from a Q7 to the RX and were concerned about cargo space, but it feels like it has plenty, and it's actually wider (not as deep) but that seems to work better in terms of loading stuff.

That was my prime concern I could hardly fit 3 bags in the trunk of the GS at least my Audi A6 they made the rear seat fold down to open up the trunk I don't understand why Lexus dosnt do that in their sedans.
