Default Quick Question: ACC mode

Lets say the car is running and you are ready to stop. However, you need to stay in the car for a while. Is there a way to turn off the engine but keep the car in ACC mode to listen to the radio or w/e? It bothers me that I have to click once to turn off the engine and have the radio die one me and the interior lights come on, and then click it again for everything to just turn back on.

seems like I might just have to deal with this but its definitely annoying.

Yup, that's the way it is. Pushing the push button start twice to turn off everything from ACC is a pain too. Just make sure you do it before you open the door or you'll get dinged to death. I thought it was because a window was open - think 330. Took me a few times to realize opening the door before the RX was completely turned off started the barrage.

^^ i know exactly what youre talking about. I sometimes open my car door to see if Im within the lines in a spot and I get the yellow warning triangle and the ding!

also I noticed for the first time yesterday after 2 months that the rear windows dont go all the way down...

I usually pop the car into neutral, and then turn the engine off. It'll send it straight to ACC mode. Once it's in ACC mode, you can shift it into park.

I do that all the time, you don't even need to shift to neutral, any gear will work. Mostly when talking on the phone, so the bluetooth won't disconnect on me.

My sister's G35 works little bit differently, while the car is on, push the power button twice, and it will go into ACC mode. No need to be in gear.

Thank you. This is why I love this forum. I did not know you could do that. Tried it yesterday and I'll be darn, it worked. I need that so I don't loose the phone connection if I'm on a call.

Thanx

Yes, it will, but your bt, dvd, and radio will stop for a moment. It won't on a G35.
So if you are on the phone with bt, you will lose the other party, and have to reach for the phone.

The only way to keep bt on is while the car is in gear, push the power button, and shift to park after.

I just read this is manual. So thought I bump it. Good to know as I often sit in the car and wait for my wife.

It's in the manual under driving procedures 2-1. If engine is stopped other than "p", car will go straight to accessory mode. Then if you shift to park and engine remains off it will turn off in 20 mins.

Once you are in the accessory mode, is there a shortcut to turn everything off without having to push the button twice?
