Dash Board Rattle
Our 30,000 mile 2010 RX started a noticeable rattle on the drivers side a couple thousand miles ago. Got more noticeable with the rough, icy roads in Atlanta this week. Very loud, constant, metallic sound.
Have made an appointment with dealer next week. Saw a reference to a LSB 0074-09 in another thread. Not sure if this is my problem.
Anyone else with this noise?

I do hear the dash board rattle at times, when going over rough snowy roads. Not a metallic sound, just as annoying. I am unable to pinpoint the exact location - either it's coming from the instrument cluster or the steering wheel column.

I know this may sound weird but, when it got cold a rattle appeared that I thought was coming from the dash. What it ended up being was the seat belt buckle between the drivers seat and the console. There was just a little bit of creaking in it, so I moved it around and it went away. I think these cars are so quiet that when a noise does develop it is harder to trace.
Just a thought and maybe worth a try.

Rattle fixed! First attempt by service department was "anti rattle foam to the plastic pieces." That didn't work so they called "TAS Agent" to replace steering column. That stopped the problem (metallic rattle). My service advisor had another RX 350 in same day for same problem.
Also updated firmware on navigation that solved the ipod scrolling problem. A good day at the dealer and another good reason to own a Lexus!
