Just took a road trip from NYC to Baltimore for the weekend...

I'm guessing here, but a 300+ mile trip, one fill-up, on and off ramps, you had to be running 85 or better to get a 75 MPH average? I've seen comments from others, over 75 that engine gulps gasoline.

Since I've had the 2010 RX, I've made approximately three trips from Tampa, Fl to Homestead, Fl (an hour south of Miami) and back, as I have family that lives in Homestead, Fl and the Florida Keys. On those trips, I couldn't get past 18.5 mpg average.
Now, when I took the RX on a trip to Northern Georgia at the end of October of last year, I did actually get up to 24 or 25 mpg's on the average readout.
Now, when I had my '07 RX and I did these same trips throughout the year, the mpg readout on that car would move up pretty quickly.
I would start out with an 18 mpg readout in Tampa, and by the time I got to Homestead, it was up to 24 or 25mpg. I remember a couple of times doing a trip from Tampa to Marathon, Fl, and the readout getting up to 28 mpg's on the '07.
It seems that I'm still not getting as much mpg's out of the 2010 as opposed to the '07. In the four years that I drove that vehicle, when I would fill up the gas tank and look at the cruising range, it was always between 300 to 349 miles to empty.
On the 2010 currently, when I filled up the tank, I only got a 289 miles to empty reading on the cruising range readout. Yuck!
