I got a crack on my windsheild the other day. To my knowledge nothing hit it. It was a very cold day -12 F but I have a an indoor parking and it was about 20 minutes or more that I was on the road that all of the sudden I heard a cracking sound and there was a crack near the lower edge of my windsheild. No has anyone had a similar problem? or has heard about 2010 RX 350s having such problem? Do you thing stuff like this are covered by warranty?any help in this regard would be appriciated.

Ouch! Jim (aka Cruiter) had it happen on his 450h. I think it was from accidentally dropping the wiper on the windshield. The dealer replaced it no charge. It's worth a shot. Good luck.

Is the windshield on the RX that fragile? I've seen windshield crack in cold weather couple of times but the cars in both occasions were either Russian made or Eastern block made that costed as much as a Lexus rare bumper. I could not imgine such poor material on a Lexus!

I haven't had a problem with the windshield in 12 years driving the RX (knock on wood). That includes dropping the wipers, temperature extremes, etc. I'd like to think what happened to Jim and yourself is a fluke but

It did happen to me. It was warmer during the spring here in GA. I was washing the car in the driveway. During the washing I bumped the drivers side washer blade and it fell on the w/s but I didn't hear a crack or anything. Later when drying the car I noticed the crack running from the bottom center toward the mirror. It didn't make it all the way to the top and didn't get worse before Monday when I went to the dealer.
They inspected it closely to make sure nothing hit it and agreed through Lexus to replace it with an OEM replacement. It has the Lexus markings, it's quite and hasn't been a problem. I think it was just a fluke. Yours probably was too.

Very interesting, that the windshield would break by mare wiper hit. it is just so strange to me that something like low temp. breaks the window in my case. I am going to take the car to the dealer later this week. let see what they say. They are not as accomedating in Canada specially for Lexuses bought in US!!!

UPDATE: I took the car to the dealership here in Canada they first checked to see if it wer caused by a rock chip, when they found out that the crack is not from outside, they changed the windshield for free. I have to say they were very nice about it (to my surprise) :-)
