Because your speaker is just a sales guy.. Or a manager who was promoted. But still a sales guy.
Trust the engineers.
Trust the manuals that came with your new car..they may be written in different languages but they are saying the same thing.

He claimed that he had been service manager for five years and that the premium gas requirement had come from his most recent training sessions with Lexus.

I accused him of being in the pocket of "big premium."

My 2010 is approaching 20k and the mileage is improving. I've noticed after a fill-up that the mileage since refueling is getting better with me seeing 23-25 numbers. The average mileage since day one is up to 22.4 which I think is good. You have to work at getting the good mileage, such as not floorboarding it from the stop lights and coasting as much as possible.

Default Miles per gallon on RX 350 (2012)

If you've a 2012 RX350 and live in a city, what city/hwy mileage are you getting and what grade of fuel are you using? While I know there are a number of variables that can affect the numbers, I'd just like to get a sense of the ranges people are experiencing..

There have been a few good threads with a lot of discussion of 350 gas mileage. I think you can find them with a search. But to answer your question, there has been a range of reported gas mileage. Some urban drivers have reported averaging in the 14 - 16 MPG range as the lowest people are seeing; while many others have reported being able to achieve the EPA combined number as described above. Most people will fall into the 16 - 21 range; with many around 19 or so. The EPA estimates for city/highway are achievable with careful driving.

I am getting 15-16mpg, we have a lot of traffic lights and "stop"signs here. And I do very short trips 2-5 miles, 5-6 times a day.

Approx 14 l /100 or 17 mpg. Fuel doesn't matter except fuel without ethonol. Get a few ticks better when the gas is ethonol free.

NYC, 85/15 city/highway, prem gas

I haven't calculated it myself but on the car it says average 12.4mpg. I hope I'm getting this low mileage because the car hasn't broken in yet. It has very low mileage(455) as it's used as a secondary car.

The stop and go is brutal on gas..need to move some place else haha
