My 2013 RX350 is getting around 18-20mpg around town in Orlando, and 22.5-23.5mpg doing 70+ on the interstate.......consistently up to 13,000 miles.
As far as apples and oranges go......can you really compare, let's say a 2010 RX to a 2014 RX. Are the engines, weights and drags the same?
Agreed!
We forgot to ask if he/she carries a 3500 lb set of barbells and dumbbells everyday.
OR if the total weight of the all the passengers amount to 3,500lbs yikes!

On a serious note, i'd like t o see the computation that he/she's doing.

The dealer asked me to bring it in for a complete diagnostic for which they will give me a loaner car. Lexus corporate responded by asking the name of the dealer and saying they will assign a case manager that will call me within 5 days. I cannot bring the car in until this weekend so I guess I will find out more then. My 5,000 mile checkup, which was the 3rd time I complained about the mileage, actually says in the report that I was told to reset the mpg after fillng gas more often and to give the car more time to break in. Pretty ridiculous, since it makes no difference in actual mileage, and I do not carry weights

Bingy, 15 Mpg is too low......I filled her up with Costco gas, took my family with 2 teens on board thru 150 miles trip freeway only, looking my 2010 Rx350 fuel average @ 29 mpg doesn't make any sense at all, but after refueling average looks about right.

I will be driving from Indianapolis to Orlando next month. I will be exuberant if I get 24.9 for the trip.

Hi Vince,
I see you are taking pictures of your speedo while underway. I did the same thing back in the 60's on the Bonneville salt flats in my '64 Chevy. Ah, those were the days.
We average 20MPG on regular gas in our '11 350RX. We're OK with that.

I don't know how reliable average mpg is......but if you can show your ( after refueling mpg) or better yet under fuel consumption settings listed as best MPG average is a lot more accurate in my opinion.

the problem with after refueling mpg, is that you have to do the test from one full tank to empty,
to make it reliable. and possibly use the same route over and over again to minimize variability.
that's roughly 340 plus miles of driving.

I really would appreciate thoughts from the forum. On my recent 4th visit to the dealer, I was given a loaner 2013 rx awd that has 20,000 miles on it. I did mainly city driving and averaged 18.2 mpg on regular fuel. The dealer in North NJ told me before taking it in they were going to have someone from lexus engineering look at it. After their time with the car, they said they never did because the car is fine, they had a diagnostic printout which showed that did an 11 mile test when rhe car was averaging 25 mpg. But when I got to the dealer, the average on the car said 19 mpg. They said that was because they reset the average after the test. i drove the car with their head of service and I was able to get the car to say it was at almost 20 mpg for a 10 mile highway test, which is something it never even said before. But when i got through the tank, my overall mpg was right back below 15. I don't understand: the loaner car, same year, same model, with regular gas instead of premium, got me about 3.5 mpg better with more city driving than I made on my car. I am sure my dealer will say the car is fine now, but I know it is not comparable to another. Any thoughts on how to get someone to actually look into this? They have told me if there is still an issue to bring it back to them, but this will be the 5th time. The only response I got from Lexus customer servicew is that they called the dealer and understood I was bringing in the car again, so thus far that has not helped.

13 mpgs / 18L/100km (not a typo) the last couple months since the time my wife's been using it to commute to her work only 1 km away. Car never gets a chance to warm up, factor in winter gas, freezing winter temps lately, and stop/go city commute. The upside is, she puts in less than 50-60 km a week so the tank still lasts a month or so.
