True - honestly, I use my in-car navigation to see where I am and find routes that I 'know - but kinda forgot', and I use my phone with google maps when I really need to find something. Their maps/locations are updated constantly, and their directions tend to be pretty good.

On my car (2011 model), the #2 (middle) homelink button has two raised dots on it. That's been working for me, although I haven't tried with gloves on ...

Hi All
I just bought my wife a Rx450h Tungsten Pearl/Black. I read this thread and thought that my home-link buttons would be unlit. I looked closely at night and noticed there is a very small led light just to the rear of the buttons. It is unnoticeable until you place your hand up to hit the button. It is not very bright and has to kind of reflect the light off your hand to illuminate the buttons. It is poorly lit but there is a light….
Love our new Lexus... came from a 2001 RX300. We hope to have this one for ten years as well!
Thanks for all the great info on this forum! Already did some led lighting upgrades.

The gloves are probably my problem. It is winter and my hands are always cold so I am driving with gloves on, thus I cannot feel anything. Once the gloves are off I'm sure I'll be able to feel the buttons better.

I'll be honest, my biggest problem is just familiarity with button placement. This RX replaced an '00 RX300 and the location is totally different. This time next month I'll be an old pro. Heck, I'm still fumbling for the door unlock buttons - I keep locking the windows!

that little led is just ambient lighting. I can see the light reflected off the back of my hand when I have my hand on the shifter. I dont remember raised dots, but its probably there. For some reason, I only saved spot 1 and spot 3, so the raised button doesnt help much, haha

I just read that for 2012 the 250h is getting illuminated home-link buttons. I hope this is going to be across the board for Lexus. I figured if enough people complained about it they would listen. Now the question is, how much to change that piece out if they do it to the RX.

Lexus always does this. They know they should do it, but they always wait a few years before implementing it. Same thing went down with the ES with the small donut spare, the GS with those buttons galore in the cubby

Building on the sticker idea, what about if you purchase a sheet of transparent stickers like this one:

Find your buttons and learn braille at the same time!
