When the time come in August, we shall call the Lexus dealer and pick up my RX for an oil change.

As they said, the third generation have no problem to get oil change until 10000 miles.
Thank again for all your replies.
Are you saying the Lexus dealer will come and pick up your Lexus for an oil change, where that dealer is 4 hours away ?

I'm going to be getting my first oil change (10k) soon. I'm tempted to ask for a quart of the oil back to send out for analysis. I'm fairly demanding with the throttle but I always let the coolant reach operating level before I lay into it.

Would love to hear the outcome if you in fact send in a sample of oil for analysis at that mileage use. That would certainly help folks who might question the 10,000 mile interval
change that is common to a lot of vehicles now.

I'm not too concerned with the interval since I put more like 7.5K on the odometer. Works out perfectly for me. I am curious to see what the oil analysis says though.

Sooooooo, I got the oil back. In one of the containers that held the new oil. Sample contaminated. Womp. I do have the kit though, so I'll wait until 20k. With the way I drive, that'll be like August.

I know the Highlander is 5k interval. The RX350 is the same engine as highlander, and it has a lower mileage interval. Sounds Strange?
