I've heard stories about separating front bumpers on the RX350, but has anyone had a problem with the rear bumper?
Initially about a quarter-inch gap on left rear that I noticed. Never hit anything. Took it to the dealer, who sent me to their body shop. They said they've never seen anything like it. Took off and re-installed the bumper and it looked better, but not in original condition. And now it's starting to separate again.
Anyone seen anything like this?

I'm afraid that I'll be caught up between the repair shop and the body shop. The body shop person at one point suggested that I go back to the repair shop and try to get it repaired under warranty. Can't the body shop (with the same name as the dealer and the repair shop) authorize warranty repairs?

Update: took my car in for 20k service, pointed out the separating bumper to the advisor. Turns out there is a TSB about this issue, and they will replace the bumper. It'll take 2-3 days, I'm told. I have an appointment for next week, and will let you know how it goes.

If you have the same problem, the TSB is 1-sb-0039-10.
By the way, I had an HS hybrid for a loaner. Nice car, but a little cramped for my tastes.

Good to hear your car is back to normal. I had the same feeling when I got into an accident and had to replace the gate and the rear bumper.
