Front Passenger door rattle
#17
Speaking of noises coming from a Lexus...the other day I was in the dealership for a "noise" coming from the drivers side vent of my IS350...the service advisor told me they are no longer allowed to call it a "noise" they now refer to it as a "sound". Too Funny. I still have a "sound" coming from my vent but by March 7th I will be in my new RX so Im just going to live with it until then.

I'm experiencing something that sounds more like a creak with my driver door. So when the car initially accelerates or brakes quickly, it occurs. I also hear it if iIgo over a curb at an angle. i.e. off camber More of a transient noise.
Took it to the dealer and they adjusted the door, reset and put some grease on the seals. Took care of the problem for a few days then it came back.
Does anyone else that is experiencing this drive with their left arm on the driver door window sill or armrest?

Finally got around to speaking with the service advisor again. They took my car and gave me an RX 350 as a loaner. They kept my car for two days in order to drive it on the streets that I told them cause the noises to be more pronounced. Then they would do something to fix it and drive it again and again. Well I just got home from the dealership my own RX 450h and I believe this time it truly is fixed. The service advisor told me that they extensively test drove it each time they made a change to something and I think their diligence has paid off. I am glad that they took my issue seriously and fixed it. My RX 450h is now as serene to drive as I think it should be.
In hindsight, I do believe that the previous fix of replacing the passenger side door panel worked, however, I think there was a second noise from that door that threw me off. That second noise is now gone. I didn't ask them what they did to fix it, I don't really care as long as they fixed it. They said they were going to make a report to Lexus Canada so that if other owners had similar problems, there would be a report on how they came to a resolution.

I totally agree, I really was hoping for a rattle free car, especially since this was a second model year vehicle. I was disappointed with Lexus with this car as it wasn't what I was expecting. Thankfully the dealership service is still outstanding and never once did the dealership infer that I was being too sensitive to the noises. They just kept trying to fix it and this time I think they've succeeded. I do realize noises are some of the most challenging things for service departments to deal with, thus my patience with the process. I just hope the next car I purchase I won't have to go through this again.
Anyhow, I think now when people ask me how I like my new car, I can be even more enthusiastic about it.
