2010 RX 350 Fog HID DIY help
Hi. I was wondering if anyone could help explain to me how to install it. I saw the other thread about reaching in from the bottom through the vents in the panels, but this seems to be different. There are no spaces for me to squeeze my hands through the gaps, and I can't seem to figure out how to remove them without removing the entire bumper. Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

You can reach the fogs by going underneath. My installer was able to easily change out a bad ballast by removing a few of the push clips and screws holding up the cover and pushing the inner wheel well liner towards the tire. First time around he removed the outer wheel well clips. Turns out it wasn't necessary. Only took a few minutes to do. Add a minute or two if you don't remember which push clip/screw goes where.

That is what i followed when I installed mine, but i approached it from the top (engine side) just remove the plastic engine covers and reach it from there

Aha! I finally got it, doing the passenger side from the top, and the drivers side from the bottom. Thanks, all! Now I just gotta wait for my relay to come in, and rewire it all.
I'm also wondering if you guys could help me with this. What wattage is the DRL's running at? I know the manual says 60W but it seems like that might be wrong? I installed some PIAA Xtreme White Plus bulbs in place of the old 9005's and instead of white with a blue tint like the item description said, it's actually yellow. Is that why I see a lot of you guys run V-LED's LED lights?

I have seen DRL with LED in person, and very surprised. It looks great, but it's not really bright enough. I mean it's not really noticeable in daytime. It actually looks much brighter in picture.
IMHO, if you replace bulb for safety reason, don't do LED. But they look definitely clean and nice. I did LED puddle lamp, but may not do others

Any other comments on the lights dispersion?

I went with super bright xenons for the DRLs/high beams. The oxidation on the OEM bulbs was incredible after only a few months of use. The bulbs I have in now are blue when off. They are a huge improvement, at least as far as the high beams go. DRLs still have a bit of that fugly yellow, just not as severe. And for $15, I'd say it was worth it.

The DRL is 55 watts but it is dim by the electronics. What it does is turn the bulb on and off a few hundred times a second to cut power to it. All high performance tinted halogen bulbs will not look white in this application. The LED DRL is not bright enough at half power, you will need a module in there to bypass the dimming circuit to power up those LED DRL at full power.

if you are talking about the DRLs you really dont need a bypass or decoder. A few of us here (me included) did the LED DRL mod with no decoder placed and it runs as bright (not too bright though) but still visible during daytime with the sun up. Besides you really dont need the DRL that bright since it turns off once the headlights are on..
