Hi,
I lost one of the two incl. electronic keys and bought a used one on ebay. Seller told me that they key can be programmed in local Lexus dealership. Anyone knows the cost? I live in Edmonton.
Also, does anyone have experience on how to program a key? Thanks!

I know from when I worked in the parts dept at a Hyundai dealership that if you are just programming the remote it takes a couple of minutes. The shop plugs a box into the car and they need to program all the keys that go to the car at one time. I'm not sure if Lexus is different. Some dealers will do it free of charge if you buy the remote from them and some will bang you up to an hour of labor. The key or "pick" that slides in the remote can be cut or ordered from the dealer in case the remote is inop. Check with the parts dept.

Any Hyundai dealer can do a Hyundai. Certain models the key portion had to be ordered and cut by the parts warehouse. The dealer I worked at is here in Roseville Ca. Programming the remote fob is no big deal.

I assumed that poster "Kevindoll" also has a Hyundai and offered info on that remote fey experience. I'll bet that getting the Lexus fob programmed and a key cut is no big deal. The Lexus dealer in our town replaces the remote batteries free as a courtesy. Hey it's better than nothing!

Hi guys. I actually went to my local toyota dealer and they charged me $110 for the key programming. Not cheap but it works. I paid $60 on ebay for the key, so overall it is much cheaper than that from Lexus ($380).
