After spending a few week with this car, I am pleased with most of the features. This was a replacement for my 2006 RX-400.
If only Lexus could provide a way to make the level equal from the different audio sources I would be 100% please.
I don't think it;s easily done after the fact though.
There is quite the difference between XM. FM/AM, usb, dvd's.
Anyone else think there should be a way to control the input levels?

Common problem with all vehicle makes. There is usually lower sound volume in the AUX/USB/BT areas. My Merc had a TSB to fix this, so its a matter of whether or not Lexus wants to release a fix

That's it?! Just a concern about the volume control? Sounds good to me (so to speak
). I test drove a new one this week and am very interested in buying one. I am glad to hear that is your biggest concern/complaint.

Yes, I know it's trivial. But what the heck lets get it perfect. This is my 5th Lexus, they just get better, more gadgets, customization, Can never be enough for my Engineering brain....

With my 2010 RX, I find with the 12-speaker system that the iPod connected by way of the USB has the best quality of sound along with the CD player, then the FM radio and, lastly, the XM radio. To me, the XM radio has the weakest quality.

Sounds like the impedance for the different radio inputs was not engineered and equalized for frequency response. After the $$$ for the Levinson system, you would think they could do better.

Glad to see it's not just me that has the audio difference. It is totally trivial and in no way a deal breaker for me... But i do find it interesting that both my husbands new '11 dodge durango and my sisters new '11 VW GTI both have equal volume levels switching from FM to SAT. They also have Sirius vs XM for us. I know the companys merged but wonder if theres something in their broadcasting that is making the difference between us and their cars? I do wish my baby had some of the same tech set ups they seem to have (very similiar even though 2 diff car companies) but then we have a fun mouse and they don't. hehehe I do find myself more distracted in their cars as well using the touch screen radio vs the mouse in the RX.
Oh well... back to work!

I had the Same problem with my RX450h.
Turns out the radio has different presets for the Sound preferences. I could barely hear the CD, and the FM would bow my head off, it was so loud. The fix is simple.
If you go into the "sounds" section, turn down bass mid, and treble on FM, and increase it on the CD.
Doing this made my inputs all the same. Not the best solution, but it works.
