RX 350 2011 Park Assist - how to add this option?
hi, i just got my rx350 2011 and its an awesome car but when i purchased my car i didn't think of park assist until i read the manuals. I think its an awesome feature but i called my dealer and they said that they can't add this feature on my system. Here's my questions...
- can i still add this feature somewhere else?
- i heard of after market options, what are those?
- what other options do i have to get a park assist on my car?
any help is appreciated.. thank you.
Oh yah, i'm located at toronto, ontario canada. thanks.

Don't do it ..... it will not be like the standard system. Spend some time and read this sad tale and see if you still want to do it. You have been warned: https://www.clublexus.com/forums/is-...rk-assist.html

It would be impossible to add lexus type sensors on their which from the factory will use the speakers in the car and also display the warnings on the instrument panel screen and the navigation if equipped.
You can go after market, but most like they will not be painted to match. On top of that, they will have to install speaker somewhere in the car where the sound will come from. I dont think you will be getting any visual cues. I say dont bother. For one, it will be unsightly because it will look aftermarket, and two, its not even that great of a feature if you have a backup camera. the stock system is missing two sensors in the front so you only have them in the corners

No, I don't play soccer!
Evitzee, that's a horrible story. Only read the first page but the pictures say it all. I passed on park assist because I didn't want the sensors on the bumper. My sales guy did tell me it could be done after delivery but since I wasn't interested I didn't bother asking how they do it. I'll stick with the back-up camera which works pretty well for me.

Let me help you! I came from China, and our technology friends are focus on Lexus cars for many year, the stupid parking sensors are just a piece of cake in China. As we know, lexus has left the plug for most function. So you need order 89341-48010(sensor*6) and other small parts, 89340-48010(the parking sensor control ecu), after you got the part, you just need to put the ecu to the ecu box which was located above the passenger side feet space, then dig holes on you bumper, finally, just simple connect the sensor with the wires lexus left.(plug in) After you plug all the parts in, the computer gonna work. very simple. I am waiting for my parts now, after I installed it, I will post some picture. I do not why people in NA does not provide these kind of service, in China to plug the factory function is a very simple work.
(http://www.lexuspartsnow.com/compone...090~4.html)you may need the 82181 and 82183 for rear sensor wires.
this is the sensor

If this is true, it is great info and I really appreciate it. That's why I come to this forum. Personally I am not interested in Park Assist feature, but I love doing things like this as long as they look and feel like OEM. So far I installed Xenondepot's xtreme HID 4300K kit and Rain Tracker, both are very cheap, easy to install and work perfectly. I am still getting familiar with Lexus and had a lot of fun with a help with good info on this board. Maybe I will try Park Assist when I get bored again!

The wires and harnesses are in place for most vehicles. My '01 Jeep didn't come with the CD changer, automatic lights or fog lights. I simply got them off of Ebay and installed all three in less than two hours. The wires were taped in the right spot for all three.

hehe~good luck bro~ here is another info which is about the head-up-dislpay. Also just simple plug in. You can order the hud computer and the switch and the dash cover w/hud on the website I gave, this is the next step I will do hahaha~~

HUD is the feature I wanted so bad. Post your success story, no doubt I will follow.

This is fascinating if anyone can confirm it. Are the cars really fully prewired so that we can just add stuff on and the satellite ECUs will talk to the main ECU?
- Park assist
- HUD
- Collison avoidance radar?
- What else ?

Before everyone gets giddy about all this plug'n'play happy talk, remember that Lexus makes cars for worldwide markets, often with different legal requirements. Not all of the wiring will be the same for all countries so the simplicity of just plugging an accessory for the Japanese market into a US spec vehicle and expecting it to work perfectly is asking a lot. Perhaps it will and perhaps you'll get an error code or worse. Just proceed with caution and if you can follow someone else who has blazed the trail.
