Default HID and Non-HID Headlights

I somehow like the front end look of the RX with OUT the OEM HID? If I have to replace my current one I will get the one without the OEM HID then go with the conversion (Yes, I will loose the AFS but that feature is NOT that usefull day to day). The OEM LED in the hybrid is a different story, though.

What do you all think?

AFS turns much more smoothly than the previous version. I find it helps a little on the turns but for most people it's not necessary. What do you mean when you say "OEM LED in the hybrid is a different story, though"? I assume you are referring to the look rather than the overall functionality.

Yes, the look. I would have opted for it if it is offered on the 350.

The LEDS were one of the reasons I went hybrid, though not at the top. There was one picture in the 2010 brochure of them on a black 450h that made me drool. I had to add them to my special order without seeing them in person. If it's any consolation they don't give the same light as the bi-xenons I had on the 330. So I upgraded to 6K HID fogs to compensate.

Hopefully Lexus will make the LEDS available on all RXs since it's offered on the CT now.

To paraphrase an expression from the "Home Improvement" TV show ("more power!"), to me, "more light" from HIDs, compared to LEDs, trumps a nicer look. But, that's just me...

And, I find the current RX's AFS effective and useful.

Having just come out of an '09 RX with HID and AFS into an '11 RX with same, what's really nice is that AFS work with the high beams on the '11. The '09 had regular halogen high beams, but the '11 uses the HID's (I think the term is "bi-xenon") for high beam. It's really awesome to see the high beam turn with you.
