Default Front seat

My wife has a 2010 RX350 that is 2 years old with 25,000 miles. She recently had the front seat cushion cover replaced because of wear on the edge. It is the semi-aniline leather. Has anyone else had a problem with wear? Any ideas on how to protect the seat? Her 2004 had 65,000 miles and the seats showed minimal wear.

I purchased a seat cover from an automotive store. However, I haven't put it on yet. I was getting in and out many times of day, but have greatly reduced that number of late. The seat was taking a beating. So in addition to the stains from belts and blue jeans, mechanical abrasion was ruining my seat.

I'm still shopping for a pair of parchment colored, microfiber Dockers with an elastic band....

My wife and I both wear Wrangler jeans. It is a constant battle to keep the parchment seats from looking blue. It requires weekly cleaning.

I talked my Wife into parchment after years of cleaning makeup off of Her Acura's black interior...PITA getting that waxy crap off.

Ours is too new at this point to show any wear but I'm going to keep an eye on it.

Default Parchment Interior, vs. Black

I'm thankful my salesman "persuaded" me not to choose the Parchment interior, as I had originally intended.

That's one of the reasons I wanted fabric seats, it last longer than leather and I don't have to worry about extreme temperatures before sitting down.

But to get fabric seats for RX, especially with the situation in Japan, ordering on on RX would take more than 4 months.

Wish I went with Black.. Have a hard time keeping my gray seats clean. Started to show wear at around 10K to be honest.

Where you been, Nate?

I was oh so close to getting gray too. It comes in a cool design for the 450h plus it would save me from second degree burns in the summer. But I couldn't do it. Been getting black for years. All I can say is check a loaner or demo car in the color of your choice with some miles before making a final selection.

I don't have the semi-aniline. Wear so far is ok for me. I haven't had problems in my previous RXs. But this is the first time with the perforated seats. Time will tell.

Hi Anita.. Had our first kido last year and many things have been put on the back burner. She is now one and my wife and I are slowly returning to our "hobbies" Thanks for asking though.

Hope to be more active on this great board.

If we have the seat covers, Will it affect the cool/hot seat function?

Sorry, I typed to quick . What I meant is will the seat cover decrease/increase the hot/cold feel of the drivers compare to the seats without cover?

Lexus or not, nothing will last forever, enjoy it while its "new". I try to keep leather nurtured and cleaned by cleaning and protector few times year. My RX gets heavy usage from kids activities and its holding up better than anticipated.
