2009 RX350 AWD Class I Trailer Hitch
Hello all,
I am trying to find a Class I trailer hitch to pull a kayak. The whole rig weighs less than 300 lbs and does not require a Class II or II hitch.
I have searched high and low and I cannot find a Class I hitch that fits this car; only Class II and II hitches were found. I would rather not pay the extra money for a hitch that I don't need or get one that weighs more than I need and have to carry it around at today's gas prices.
The Internet didn't help me much so I am turning to the forum for assistance. I find it hard to believe that RX350 owners in CA and FL do not represent a viable market for a Class I trailer hitch.
Thanks for your help.
John T.

A class I hitch would represent an very small market and may not be worth it to a manufacturer, so I am not really surprised you cant find one. You can always install a larger hitch and use a reducing adapter to get to the correct tow bar size. Plus, if you use a Class III hitch the selection of available bike racks increases!!
The down side is that there will be an increased cost going that way.
