Incomplete Option/ Package

the RX has always had it since they became popular (starting in 2004 with the RX debut). The GX and LX never got it because Lexus thought it would shine in peoples rear view mirror. They finally caved with the new GX although they had to design the headlights to accommodate it

We cant really blame Lexus for not including them in the 1st gen RX, they were not mainstream. The original RX was a low 30K car, and would not have HIDs in that price point. Also the 1st year of the RX330 did have HIDs, mine did.

it was equally both sides fault. him for not telling you about no comfort package, and you for not double checking the sticker before purchasing it.

I have the 19" Chromes and love them. Came with the RX as a dealer added option. it was $1200. I have seen them on ebay for the swap but they usually want the same wheel back. I have also seen them to buy out right on ebay thru California Chrome. I think it was around $1900 incl shipping but you would still have to buy tires and then the mounting.

I thought our RX's only had two speaker options; standard 12 speaker premium and then the Mark Levinson package. There's a third base 9 speaker option?

If you're buying a new RX and would like to add the 19" Alloy wheels (that's rims AND all season tires) it'll only cost you $660 and that's even MSRP. If you buy it later on it'll be at least double that cost. Crazy huh?

Yup HID became available on the RX in 2001 as well as GPS Navi.

Old School HID
They sure did. I have them on my 2001 RX300 Silversport. They were a $515 (MSRP) option. They are also the self-leveling kind.
By the way, base MSRP on the 2001 AWD model was $35,705. $40,452 was the net total MSRP with options included on mine. Paid $38,075 (before tax, title and registration) in September 2001.
It's still going strong and looking good after 134,000 miles (knock on wood).

The 1st gen RX didnt have HID, that was the hot topic on all of the RX forum. The HID options wasnt available until the 2nd production year of the 2nd gen RX330. Again it was the Lexus lawyers desiging the Lexus SUV back then, have you notice all the Lexus in that time period have their headlight aim as low as possible.

Update: I talked to the GM of the dealership where I bought the car. He said that if I'm not happy with the purchase, I'm not tied to it and gave me 2 days to decide if I want to return the car and walk away with my full deposit. I talked to my wife and we decided that it's too much of a hassle for us to return it because it will take time for the banks to reverse the paperwork. Even if we get the deposit and do the Unwinding Agreement on one day, it'll take at least 3 days before we can buy another car since it will still show that we just financed a car. In addition, I tried calling dealerships and they don't have the full option that I want or they have the options but not the color I want. It's interesting that 2 dealership doesn't have the PREM, COMF, NAVI but just PREM, NAVI + Vent/ Heated seats + 19 Wheels, same config as mine! So it maybe that dealerships here request this config more because that's what most customer wants. My wife needs a car for work so it means she has to rent a car for the meantime. We decided if we could get some comps for the misunderstanding we will just keep the car. I told the GM my proposition and he agreed to give me the Remote Start for free, it will be installed on Monday. We're happy how it turned out.
