Rolled down Hill in Park 2011 RX350
Hello,
About a month ago I pulled my 2010 RX350 out of garage parked next to curb for few minutes while running. Was going to put back into garage right away.
So, I pulled out and put car into PARK and left it on and i stepped out and WALKED in front of car which was parked on declining hill. If i had left it in neutral or drive i couldn't have stepped out and i would have been run over if left in park. Please help anyone else had roll down in park issues before.

interesting...we will never know. This is just like the accelerator petal incidents. The driver cant prove that the car was really in Park and chances are (im not saying that it was or wasnt), the insurance company nor lexus is going to believe that it was

This will be one of million rare cases. I've owned some Toyota/Lexus cars and don't even need to use the hand break when park down/up hills, just shift to PARK, that should be good enough.
Hope it's not "your fault".

I had to say something. I'm not buying it. I think either it is user error - failed to put in park on slight decline, or this is a insurance/publicity stunt.
In addition, anyone with some experience in driving/parking on slopes - knows turn the damn wheel towards curb, and if no curb - then/as well use the damn parking brake. Its not their for decor.
I dont believe it - vehicle failure. Just like the BS accelerated on its own fiasco.

Even if he/she had managed to engage the hill lock brake (or whatever it's called) it would have released by the time they had gotten out and walked in front of the car.
Of course there might have been so much "dinging" going on, you couldn't know what the car was trying to tell you. Like no key, door open, car in gear...ding, ding, ding...
Luckily no one was hurt. Car looks pretty bad.
