Decisions for my new RX
#16
I have to agree with many of the posts here. I bought a 2010 RX for some of the reasons you are considering one. I was not totally sold on the looks. I am now seriously considering selling it and getting the new X3 35i, because of the added performance that I miss because I traded my 08 GS350 on the RX. My point is take your time and make sure you really like the vehicle you are purchasing.
No doubt the RX is the segment leader and one of the more dependable vehicles on the road, but other manufacturers are closing the gap on luxury, quality and comfort. Good luck with your decision.

DropZone ... Don't buy the 450h ... if you don't like it before you have even purchased it, you will quickly find other things about the car you hate. This is not the car to get just for gas mileage. There are just to many other options for reducing the gas you are using. Frankly, you sound confused about your requirements ... jumping from a CT to and RX?
I don't know about 2012, but between 2010 and 2011 there seems to have been a price increase. I don't know exactly how big, but I configured my $51,900 2010 FWD 450h on the Lexus site and it now seems to cost $53,700.
As an alternative recommendation, you might look at the Subaru Outback Limited 2.5i. I purchased a 2011. It is nicer than the CT, is rated at 29 highway (but, I don't have any trouble getting between 31 & 33 MPG). It will get better mileage than my 450h on the highway. A fully loaded OB will have a sticker around $32,000 and can be purchased for less than $29,000.

I'm really interested at this car. Saw it on Top Gear last night. The US version comes with an Ford Ecotech engine, unlike the UK one comes with a diesel.

Don't do it. You'll have nothing but buyer's remorse. There's a SUV out there for you--you just need to find it.
