Ok, the auto high beams are about worthless. The automatic windshield wipers come on randomly. BMW had this down in 2001 (with M5).
I'm finding the center console irritating. I think I've finally got all the wires like I like them... But pulling everything out to change out adapters is annoying.

I have learned just to turn off the auto wipers when its not a rainy day. I am sure the Auto high beams work fine if you live out in the country. The few times I had the opportunity to use them they worked perfectly. I chose the RX over a BMW for it's long term reliability since I was purchasing not leasing this time around. So far so good.

my 2004 had rain sensing wipers and they were perfection. they never went off when it was dry and always went at the appropriate time when raining.
Dont know what changed for it to not work as well in the 3gen

Our auto high beams work perfectly, they go on and off when needed and when there is a car in the distance going in the same direction it keeps the beams on low. Rain sensing wipers are a gimmick in my view, I leave them off and when it starts raining I'll put them to auto and then they work fine. Otherwise you are asking for a messed up windshield everytime a drop of water falls on the window.

It's still shown as part of the Comfort Package on the Lexus site. But if it is no longer available it wouldn't be the first time the web site is wrong.

I'm baffled by the number of complaints about the sensitivity of the rain-sensing wipers, particularly on a dry day. I've never had this problem on my 2010 RX, and I've had the car since July of last year!
I love, love the rain-sensing wipers.
Also, my auto high-beams work as they are supposed to. I don't live out in the country, so particularly when I get close to my home they go on and off a lot with all the different reflections of light going on through my neighborhood. Wish I knew the answer why some members are having the wipers come on when it's dry.

No, I don't play soccer!
It must be a problem with 2011 only because I haven't experienced the wiper randomly coming on. I have played around with the sensitivity. It still doesn't work in the misty stuff we've had the past few days. I think using Rain X probably contributes to that.
I keep my auto high beams off. It's too densely populated by me. I don't drive at night either right now. They do work though. It's a cool feature to have. Using it might be another story. Same with radar cruise control.

My rain sensing wipers have worked great for the 8 months I have had the vehicle. Maybe that is partially due to the rain we have experienced (large percentage of days) in Oregon during this last winter/spring--never dries out ?
