Default Turn Signal on Message

I just purchased a 2011 RX350, without navigation, and love the car. However, I am surprised that if I leave the turn signal on I don’t get a message that it’s on. Also, on the multi-information display what is the Eco Driving Indicator Zone Display telling me?

Are you kidding us ??? You leave your turn signal on, it's flashing at you, yet you want a message as to why it's flashing ???

Forgive me for being flippant but .....

Maybe it's just me but I'm going to mentally file this as one of the strangest questions yet

Oh, welcome and glad you like your car

Maybe automakers should give drivers a message when their windshield wipers are ON! LOL!!

I'm wondering if the OP is talking about if the turn signal indicator is on for too long, that a warning message or alarm will go off.

Sounds like th OP is learning about their new RX, "what is the Eco Driving Indicator Zone Display telling me?" Read the manual.

Oh man, all of you are killing him,. He meant "message" is the signal indicators, it's not flashing when he switchs.

The Eco light shows how aggressiveness you step on the gas pedal.

No offense but this question is like: I just turned the car off but it's not telling me any message that the car is off.

well to answer the question:

I think the OP means that you dont get a message when you shut off the car. However, the turn signal lights do not blink when the engine is off so you dont need to worry about a dead battery. headlights, interior lights, turn signal lights will shut off either after you turn off the engine or after a certain period of time to save battery. The only lights that will stay on is when you have your emergency flashers on.

ECO driving indicator is just telling you that you are driving in an eco-concious manner. Doesnt do much else.

Wow. I thought turn signal technology had pretty well peaked.

I know that in some cars, if the turn signal is left on too long, it gets louder. I'm sure you've seen drivers who have left their turn signals on after, say, changing lanes.

Turn signal clicks have been turned way down in volume during the past 20 years, radios have been pumped up big time, and my hearing is not getting any better. Leaving a turn signal on for miles at a time is understandable, although no less frustrating for those following.
I have not heard of a turn signal that turned itself off after a long period of time, but that should be required in Florida.
(and now I'm going to hear from Florida . . . .)

If you are only going 40 on the Florida expressways, what's the point of looking down at the instruments?
I have had some real loud clickers in some of my cars (especially my old Jeep Wrangler), and maybe it's just Lexus, but I have had some pretty subdued turn signal clicks lately. Of course, the Jeep made so much noise on its own that it had to have a loud clicker (state law, I think).

Ah, our suburban will flash a "Turn Signal" message in the information display if you are say, exiting a long sweeping exit ramp that does not require the steering wheel to turn enough to cancel the turn signal. Is this necessary??? Absolutely not, but it real does not bother me either way. I think this is what the OP was referring to. Not missing it a bit in the RX... but hey, there may be occasions I am eternally turning right...LOL
