Guys, what about best choice for 19" summer tires and 18" winter tires?

For summer, i enjoy comfort and quiet tire. For winter, grip above all as my wife and kids usually drive the RX.

Regarding the stem caps, if they had green on them, they indicated the tires were filled with nitrogen. Mine came like that on my 2010 RX 450h.

My 2010 Rx came from the factory in Japan with the Dunflops...and I hated them from the get go. I have always had Michelins. The ride was horrible and they were noisy ...not to mention the wear factor is about half of that of the Michelin Lattitudes. My dealer would not switch them but after driving 5,000 kms on them I contacted Lexus Canada and they switched them out for me for Michelins.....I am now over 40,000 km (about 25,000mi) and there is no noticebale wear to them and they are remaining quiet. I will order a mid generation refresh 2013 when it comes out in the spring and if it comes equipped with the Dunflops and the dealer refuses to swap them--it will be a deal breaker....the way to avoid that of course, is to insist that my next vehicle be built in Cambridge because all of the better equipped packages from Cambridge come to Canadian markets with 19" Michelin tires - no other brand. Lets hope that tire supply trend continues for 2013! By the way, no issues with the Michelins in the snow either and mine have been through 2 Canadian Winters!

I know most only trust Tire Rack and its ratings, but here is one alternative choice I am glad I made.

Last month, I decided to purchase Toyo Versado CUV as replacement for Firestone tires (aka Bridgestone HL400s). I will hold off a complete review until after the winter driving, but so far these tires are awesome. Handling, cornering, stability, noise, comfort, thread depth, payload capacity, speed rating, and looks -- all get a 10 out of 10 from me.

The tires are made in Japan. The total cost was $665 shipped for a set of 4, and $60 installed at local shop. That's cheaper than a set of Kumho tires local S & S store sells. I can't imagine a better choice, unless of course TR rating is a must.

I test drove a car RX 350 today and did not see what tires it had. It was dark. BUT, the ones on the showroom floor had Dunlops. I want Michelin's. I am familiar with those. I wonder if I will be able to get one with Michelin's?

I bought my RX from Herb Chambers, they swap out the Dunlops for me with the Michelin for a $100 labor. I guess it cost $100 because not only the wheels have to be swap but the tire pressure sensors have to be reprogram.

Totally agreed. I replaced my wife's '11 RX 350 AWD to Michelin's from the Dunlop's. While the Dunlop's a slightly better handler, the Michelin's are superior in road noise, comfort and tread wear.

Are you commenting on 19" wheels and the Dunlop Grandtrek Touring A/S being upgraded to the Michelin Latitude Tour HP? How many miles were on the Dunlops and are you comparing the Dunlops just before the swap to the new Michelin's?

Yes, I swapped to the Michelin Latitude Tour HP. The Dunlop had 14K miles on it. The Dunlop's handle very well but road noise and comfort were too much for me to handle with the family.
