2011 RX350 Recall for VDIM
The luxury vehicle division of Japanese automaker Toyota Motor Corporation, Lexus is recalling 2011 RX 350s that were built between August 30, 2010 and May 18, 2011 and have Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management (VDIM).
It seems that the problem for which these cars are recalled is an incorrect calibration for the hydraulic control valves. If you don’t know, this incorrect calibration means the right front tire might not be controlled properly if the ABS or VSC (Vehicle Skid Control) system is activated and that could result in either a longer stopping distance or the failure to correct the slide, ending with a crash in the worst case scenario.
The Japanese company will make the fix free of charge, replacing the brake actuator with a new 1. To contact the company, owners may do so at 800-331-4331. Dealers are expected to begin making the fixes in August.

And I guess it didn't effect the 2010 models with VDIM as it only lists 2011 model year.
32 might be about right on the 350 as it was hard to get the expensive option package that contained it. For us 450h drivers it was part of the jump to the highest model in the line that included more accessories.

Jim, the VDIM cut-off switch is on the 450h sport, not the 350 sport. The package is actually inexpensive. Finding one is pretty hard. I believe they only come from Japan too. Sandi K waited 5 months for her '10 350 sport, me four months. I test drove a 350 sport at my dealer back in May 2009 before I drove the 450h. That's probably why I went with sport.

I tried pressing and holding the TRAC button. TRAC off message appeared in the center and the VSC light came on. But that was it. No other lights came on

Jim, I don't necessarily want to turn VDIM off either. I just want to know how to.
Which makes me wonder, has anyone with VDIM had the VSC light go on while driving on a slightly bumpy road going downhill with the brakes on enough to slow down a bit? I feel like the system is a bit hypersensitive sometimes. It's not a complaint, just an observation.
