In a black leather car, the wood is reddish. The darker brown is not available (look on the website). The darker wood is only available with the grey leather, while the black and tan leather get the reddish wood.

That said, it's always to get color correct with pictures, but that looks off to me. The door and center console match (and are reddish), but the wheel looks to be the darker wood. Maybe they made a mistake? Ask the dealer to show you other black leather interiors.

We were initially set on getting a tungsten pearl w/ black interior RX last yr..but after saw the car in person, the reddish maple wood trim scared us away..ended up w/ tungsten pearl w/ grey interior and dark walnut wood trim..couldn't be happier and our wood trim is consistant in color all around..

This was my RX300 at five years with a wood kit installed by the dealer when I bought it new. You can definitely see the difference.
Your dealer let you go out the door with all of that aftermarket wood looking like that?! I'm sorry but that is distasteful having all of that mismatched wood throughout the car.

The wood looked great when it was new. The picture was taken after five years. Some of the pieces broke around the vents and radio too I definitely won't do that again.

My 2011 450h has a perfectly matched steering wheel. The car is Satin Cashmere with black interior and the wood matches throughout.

Maybe they use different wood in the GS, but the red wood they used in my 2011 GS with black interior is AMAZING. My wife has the Tungsten Pearl RX with grey leather and her steering wheel almost looks like a black wood, which is fine for that color of interior. However, IMO, the red wood looks great with black interior...assuming they match all the pieces correctly. Again, I'm not sure they use the same red wood in the RX.

My 2008 IS with black interior has the reddish wood. I'm assuming that different interior colors have different specified wood colors. Maybe yours got mixed???

It must vary from car to car. Mine is the brown walnut, however in person it looks more red than brown. Mine looks more like the first picture above than the second. I love it!

My 2011 AWD with parchment interior has the same issue as you describe. The steering wheel is more brown and everything else is more red looking. I assumed it was the way Lexus does stuff. Not all that impressed. I'm still very annoyed that the CD player doesn't identify the artist and track. I might have to go back to German or American next time.
