Default Scratches in rear bumper - what's the best way to deal with them?

After using my 2010 RX350 to move I've got several pretty deep scratches on my rear bumper from removing boxes. What do you guys recommend for this?

I'm probably looking for a DIY solution. Is there a touch-up paint for bumpers? How about for the body itself? I haven't seen much discussion of touch-up paint. It used to be that when you bought a new car the dealer threw some in for you.

What do you think?

From my reading in the CL Detailing forums and other detailing forums like autotopia some scratches can be easily fixed with some compounds like Scratch X or even Meguiars Ultimate compound. Rule of thumb is you want to try the least abrasive product and go up. So it depends on how deep the scratches are. If its past the clear coat (if your nail hits the scratch) then I've seen people apply touch up paint with a toothpick or pin or something to fill. This however can look terrible especially if too much is applied. In order to make it look like new you would have to wet sand it down using various grits until it smooths out then polish. I don't have the courage to try to attempt this myself so I'd rather leave it to the pros and pay for it.

I've had great success with scratch X for minor scratches.

Check out this post of someone going through the process of scratch repair

Good Luck!

Thanks, I'm a big fan of ScratchX and have used it successfully. I think I will try the touch up paint with a toothpick and if it still looks crappy then I'll take it down to my local auto body guy.

Really depends how severe the damage is.
Your post isn't worth nothing without pics.
