Default Help!!! Defective paint job on new RX350!!!!!!!

Help!!! Defective paint job on new RX

So we bought a new black RX last friday. The next day, I noticed a strange bubbles? dots? all over the front hood of the car. Area right above the headlamps only. It almost looked like there were rock chips everywhere and Lexus did a paint jobs on them to cover them....

So on saturday, I went to the service center and the guy working there also noticed this defect and made a note on their computer. From the car's record, no work has been done. But unfortunately, he couldn't do anything because there was no manager present on saturday.

So today is labor day, no one is working.... and I am concerned as to what this defect is and what Lexus will say or do about this. Can we exchange to a new car? Will they 'under warranty' repaint the whole hood!!!!????? on a new car?

Did anyone had similar paint defects on new Lexus?? Does anyone know what this maybe???

Remember this car hasn't been driven at all......

Sounds like it got caught in a hail storm or something similar. I would not except the car and make them get you a new one. Should not be delivered with damaged paint.

so it is possible to get a new one on the basis of clearly defective paint?

I fear that they will try to repaint it. on a new car.

If that is how it was delivered to you then you should be able to return it. Either that or a nice chunk of money back. I would want a new car, that is what you paid for.

Forgive me for asking, but is it the paint or a poorly installed clear bra?

Also, is the car performing in to your satisfaction overall and are all the packages that you need are there? One thing to consider getting a new is that it may not have what you want/need. Paint job is a paint job. Just weigh what other options you have before jumping on the gun on exchanging for a new one that doesn't have what you want.

Have you carefully checked that something is actually wrong with the paint? I think that the RX's are shipped with a protective plastic on the hood and there may be a small adhesive residue remaining from when it was removed.

Rather than jumping to conclusions, and no one can add much without seeing pictures, just take the car in and see what the service manager says. It may not have been prepped properly and it is residue. Don't panic or demand a new car. Dealers don't like to do a swap like that because it costs everybody money and that type of defect should have been caught by you in the delivery inspection. See what they say and work with them. I wouldn't be too keen on having the front edge of the hood repainted.

I would not be keen on having hood repainted. Not sure if real or not but to my hand, the paint on my RX feels 'soft', in a good way. I've had new Buicks, Oldsmobiles etc and none of them had the nice feel of my RX350. Maybe I'm crazy ... my significant oither thinks so on occasion, but after 4 months, paint still has that 'feel Not sure a new paint job would achieve same 'feel'.

Hey, OP, whatever happened to this issue? What was the real problem and what did they do to remedy it? I hate when people come on here with all kinds of problems, get advice, and we never hear from them again. It would be nice to follow up with conclusion.
