Hi,
My car is now at 38,500 miles and the "OIL MAINTENANCE REQUIRED" is on.
But according to service record "30,000 MILE SERVICE $549.95 ***FOR SYNTHETIC OIL" was done at 32,935 miles.
Does that mean it is the time to change oil again? I thought this car has 10,000 oil change interval?![Confused](https://www.clublexus.com/forums/images/smilies/confused.gif)
Car is 2010 RX350, bought CPO at 34,000 miles.

I believe that, for this car, Lexus USA recommends a 10,000 mile oil change interval, while Lexus Canada "requires" an 8,000 km (5,000 miles) oil change interval. And, no, I don't know what the rationale for the difference is.

The vehicle doesnt know the condition of the oil. It only illuminates the service indicators based on mileage intervals. Either the maintenance light was not reset during a previous service, or it was reset at an interval other than 30k exactly.
Whenever a technician resets the maintenance light, the vehicle will remind you 5k miles from that exact milage. It does not just illuminate at 5k, 10k, 15k, etc. If it was reset at 32k it will illuminate at 37k.
Toyota is now recommending 10k oil change intervals, so when a customers vehicle comes in at 5k, the default "oil maintenance required" will appear, even though the vehicle does not need oil service.
