Lexus nameplate missing?

I'm currently considering the RX350 and RX450H. I have noticed on the road that some of the RXs are missing the back Lexus nameplate. Is this a design quirk on certain years/models? Or are people removing their nameplate for some reason?

I dont really see it as cost cutting, how much money could they possibly save? Lexus has enough recognition in the automotive world at least in the US to no longer have to have the nameplate badge on there. No other true luxury automaker has one. It remains in overseas vehicles.

Speaking of badges, look at this, it's a travesty, they have placed a metal badge of the dealer's name directly above the Lexus badge. On their site it looks like they do this to all their cars. How tacky is that...

Yuch! The worst I got from my dealer was license plate frames.
I'm partial to having Lexus on the back. It's redundant, sure, but I like how it looks. At least it's one way to differentiate a '10 from an '11. Cost savings is nominal, not so much if you want to add it. Lexus is not the only car company doing it.

I prefer the Lexus badge on there, for balance and also because otherwise it looks like some generic no-name car. It will take many years before the "L" emblem achieves the panache of the Mercedes quasi-peace sign logo.

I like the way my 2011 450h looks. I am fine with no Lexus badge on the hatch, though if it was on there, I would have no problem either. Car manufacturers usually make minor tweaks to their vehicles to differentiate MY when not making major changes. It is a good looking vehicle either way.

I estimated the cost of the Lexus emblem at 25 cents. I removed both the Lexus and the RX350 emblem. Everyone knows it's a RX and from there Lexus is a given. I don't really care if anyone else knows, I do. Easier to clean too. Balance is restored.

I don't know, I just think it's better to leave it the way it is. No offense intended, to each their own. I will be getting my 2010 at the end of October and I can't wait!
