You will be able to make a great deal since large ticket items aren't moving. Go towards the end of the month, I've found that's when you can make the best deals.

If you plan to trade or sell it after 3 years, then go for the 2012.

many of you probably have seen/heard recent trend with used prices. few thousand differences at the most so I would recommend 2012 [brand new] and negotiate price like "jamiec" did down to invoice. contents/packages slightly changed from what I can tell from Lexus site and price also has gone up since 2010. "jamiec" did good at $45k with his with option/packages. Most of you probably know about the V6 3.5 fiasco with DI but it also impacted our 3.5 without the DI. I read somewhere there has been revision to improve the internals on all V6 3.5 engines so 2011/12 should have revised/improved internals. When time to sell, 2012 will fetch more than 2010/11 so what he paid in differences now will even out at the end so why buy use.

Happy1977........I picked the Satin Cashmere with parchment interior I also added body side moulding. My husband was quite surprised by the deal I negotiated, said he's gonna let me deal for him from now on! lol Okay, I'm a little new at this so what is a DI?

DI = Direct injection. As mentioned, the RX doesn't have it (IS and GS 3.5 V6's do).

Anyone know of a warranty company that's any good? Lexus tried to get me to purchase a 7 year/75,000 bumper to bumper for $1695. Didn't sound like a good deal to me since the first four years are covered in the standard warranty so they were actually selling me a 3 year warranty that would begin once the standard 4 year/50,000 mile warranty ended. The finance guy tried to tell me the warranty would cost me $242 over the 7 years, to which I explained the first 4 years are already covered in the standard warranty so I would actually be paying $565 for the three years that are not covered.
Any thoughts folks??

No, I don't play soccer!
Stick with the Lexus extended warranty. It can be purchased up until the standard warranty expires. The only caveat is it will cost more than if it was purchased when you picked up your RX. There are a few threads around here about places to contact for buying the Lexus extended warranty at a discount.

Thanks for the feedback. I decided to go with the warranty and negotiated a better price, $1,555 which amounts to $518 for the three additional years over the factory warranty. My husband is shocked, as the original price was $2,900.

Do you mind sharing whether you went with Lindsay or Pohanka Lexus? I've dealt with both over the years and believe Pohanka has gone way downhill - in both sales and service. I'm hoping to finally go with a new one next year (2013 model year) and am thinking Lindsay is the best one to deal with in Northern VA.
