If you google a VIN number a bunch of sites will come up that will tell you whether a car has been sold or which dealer has it but I'm wondering if there's a way to look up how much was paid for a certain car, i.e. is there a public record somewhere? It would be useful to have this information when researching a dealer for negotiations.
