Side mirrors move downward when in Reverse gear?
Hi guys,
I have had my '11 RX for a while now and I have never paid attention to if the side mirrors actually move downward when shifted into reverse gear to help parking. My friend brought up that question a couple days ago while we were talking about my BMW would do that. I am very positive that when I had my ES back in 2007, it did have that feature.
Any thoughts?
Thanks for your feedbacks guys.

kitlz is correct. Set the switch to either side - not in the middle. A lot of people have said it can cause premature failure of the lamp motors, but it's up to you if you want to risk it. My 06 GX has a hard time getting the drivers mirror back to it's original location (it has 100k miles) so I have it turned off.

The amount of tiltdown on the RX is slight and is pretty worthless compared to my IS which has a lot of tiltdown so you can really see the curbing or whatever is alongside the vehicle. Not sure why Lexus wimped out on the tiltdown on the RX.

I agree it doesn't turn downward as much as the 330 like RXSF said. But I like how Lexus added the blinkers and puddle lamps. Here's a few pictures I took when I changed the puddle lamps. There's lots of stuff in there.

We stuck on those little round convex mirrors to see the ground better since the mirrors don't tilt that much. It's just harder to see at night since the image is so small. (don't have the fancy side camera package)

^^ dont worry you arent missing much with the side camera, its pretty much useless.
If you set it to turn on automatically when you come to a stop, its annoying since the nav screen keeps flipping back and forth. If you dont set that, you have to remember to push the button to turn it on when you are about to come to a stop. And the stupidest thing is that it wont let you turn it on until you reach like 3 miles per hour so often times it doesnt even turn on.
