Default No body side molding for starlight black mica!

I recently purchased a 2012 in starlight black mica. After getting a scratch in the parking lot, decided to ask the dealer about body side moldings only to find out they're not available in that colour! This is absurd. Does anyone have any idea on what I could substitute? In Canada by the way.

Welcome to CL, Augmentfir. Sewell carries the side moldings in starglazer black. I haven't heard starlight black before. Make sure you register to get the discounted price, less than $100 USD. You can order it from them and install on your own to save even more.

It seems that Canada has different colour offerings to the US - not sure if Stargazer black is the same as starlight black mica. Lexus Canada has been no help in finding a solution - just a form email explaining that they don't offer it in this colour because of lack of demand. It's a new colour for 2012, so of course there's a lack of demand! Geez, this is my first Lexus, I expected a lot better than this.

Can you get the paint code for starlight black from the dealer? That might help.

It appears that in Canada the Starlight Black Mica is paint code 217 which is the same paint code for the Starglazer Black in the US. They are both 217 paint code.

I hope this is true as that is the color I ordered.
