Help: Winter tires 2011rx350
Hello,
I am looking into getting new wheel rims and winter tires for my 2011 RX 350. It currently came with 19" tires. I saw the following on Craiglist:
"Yokohama 235/55 R18 100H Steel belted radials (4) M/S winter Tires. Mounted on Touizen 18" winter steel mags for LEXUS 350". Any reason not to use these? The price is $1200. If so, what about the TPMS? I am guessing that it will be inactive. Do I have to buy new TPMSs for each tire? Do I have to get a Lexus dealership to install the tires?
Any assistance is appreciated.
Thanks, Charles

You will need a set of TPMS sensors for each wheel. Many tire vendors now have programmable sensors that can be programmed to your original ID codes. Orange Electronics and Sens-It are brands that work. I bought the TPMS sensors and the Orange T30 programmer because it was the least expensive route at the time. No ECU programming of the car is necessary.
These after-market sensors will cut the cost and hassle of TPMS issues.
