High gas consumption
Been driving my 2012 RX350 for about 6 weeks now; done around 1600km (in Canada). The best mileage I've had out of it is about 380km/tank. It's in eco mode most of the time as well. I do mostly city driving, but still don't think it should be this bad. My previous vehicle, a 12 year old Toyota Sienna minivan, would do 400-450km/tank (similar size), same driving/routes.
I'll be taking it into the dealer soon for it's first "checkup", is there anything they can do?

The vehicle in the states is advertised as 18 city and 24 highway. The is miles not Km. Miles on tank is advertised as 346 which converts to 556km. I would just take it in and see what theysay. There is definitely something going on. Could be a number of things. Hope that helps a little.

in winter new car always like that, when you drive out of 5000km, you car will finish learning and the engine is at a perfect condition to work, and then you have to change you engine oil, then drive on highway to teach your car. Here is the method drive on high for new car for once. Do not be just at steady speed, you should let the speed changing with in 70km-180km or more, and let engine works sometime harder sometimes lighter.

I've had the car since beginning of October, so 2 months, not the 6 weeks I originally said. It wasn't cold then and it isn't that cold now. We've had no snow and temperatures are above freezing, so don't know about it being a weather problem. My average is 15.6L/100km and I've noticed the crappy mileage since the beginning.
Thanks for the tips on breaking in the car though.
Does anyone know what engine problems could affect mileage? I'm taking it in next week.

You are getting about 15 MPG. That seems a little low, but there are many people reporting 14 to 16 MPG for in town driving. There are a number of possible explanations; some relate to how you are using the car and those should be ruled out first. Short trips, fast acceleration, idling, stop and go traffic, etc. Sorry, wish I could be more helpful. Here is a mileage thread, you will see that many people are getting low mileage.

My 2011 got similar mileage when it was new, especially when driven around town last spring. By summer I was getting around 10L/100km, sometimes better on long highway drives. Best tank was 8.9L/100km, lots of tanks took me more than 550km but this was all on the highway at about 120kph. The car now has 20,000km on it in eight months, so I do a fair bit of driving. Now that cooler weather (<10 degrees C) is here and the snow tires are on, I am finding that mileage has dropped to around 12.5L/100km in basic around town driving. It improves to around 10.5L/100km on the highway although I haven't done any long 1,500km drives since August. Just wait until you get 8-10,000km on it before you get concerned. Unless you are constantly in stop and go (401 in the GTA) traffic I'd expect around 12-13L/100km as realistic mileage in general use.
