Hi,,, any news on 2012/13 RX350 updates ? also, when will Lexus introduce 8 Speed Transmission ?

as a 2nd Generation RX owner,,, i like the car a lot,,,and it's time to renew... am also looking at X3 too... it sounds 8 Speed and Turbo charge small engine is the magic to gas saving ?

If you don't like to visit your dealer often, you might want to stay away from BMW. However, if you are passionate about deriving and wont be bothered by some small computerized problem, I say go with the new X3 or X5. They are really amazing SUVs in a sporty form. I came from a 08 M3 to the 11 RX and I admit I really miss the way BMW drives and handles. But this Lexus is really reliable and I have not made extra trips to the dealer other than the scheduled service.

8 speeds are coming eventually as it is a cheap enough way to boost economy, but I think the longterm future for gas milage is going to be the CVT like the hybrids have.

I doubt you will see any signifiant MPG improvement between 8-speed RX350 (if existed) and 6-speed RX350......beyond 6-speed, you quickly get diminishing MPG improvement.....so 8-speed is more of a marketing ploy compared to 6-speed....
