I had my new car out in the rain and...
really enjoyed it! The ride was VERY quiet and the wipers were SILENT! Even on high. Amazing what a nice feeling that is.
I am still getting used to the car. RX 350 2012. Wondering if I should have gotten the 450h with ALL the goodies. Next time!
There is something about a good old fashioned dashboard with a TACH. I really like the white backlit dash. Forget their word for it. Oh yeah, electro luminescent or something like that
Am showing the car to my sisters tomorrow!

The dash is lit up with the electro luminesence of unborn reindeer hides. It gives a very sharp visual representation of the driving information. Honestly, i beleive it is backlit organic LED's that light up the dash.

While on a conference call it was raining and I asked if the folks heard any noise or feedback since it was an issue with my ES. Their answer was I sounded like I was on a bluetooth, which I was. Previously I would have to mute the phone with the ES during any rain events. The RX handles the noise much better.

Gauges on Lexus' are pretty nice ...... clear and concise and nicely lit. On the IS model the needles themselves are illuminated by tiny led's that cover the surface of the needle giving a sharp contrast on the black background. Very cool in operation.

If you like quiet, definitely consider the 450h. Many things work to create quiet in the car: 1) CVT transmission; 2) engine is frequently off; 3) engine/electric motors/CVT working together to minimize noise by serious reducing load on engine. Can be a very quiet environment.

AM I crazy enough to trade this in and get the 450h? Crap, I hope not I really do like it. Not sure of mileage yet. I really do mostly 30-50 around town driving. A little 70-80 on the highway once a week. And once in awhile a 5 hour trip.
But thanks, that is good to know about the 450h. Quiet is really good. This is also my office. But This RX350 is quieter than I hoped for. and it seems to handle very well. Have not put it through much, but what I have it handles very flat.

I'm sure you would enjoy either RX. I have the 450h, and am very impressed with it. One question I have, though, is how the AWD will operate in the snow. The snow season is just starting here; will report back once it gets heavy. The 450h is definitely the quietest car I have ever owned, and is a pleasure to drive on long trips.
