I agree with kiltz. Think about the false statement, saying that more pleats equals more restricted air flow. The opposite is true. More pleats means more filter material, therefore more surface area and less air resistance. I have a WIX filter and I like it.
To the person that was confused about the arrows on the filter...The arrows on the filter FRAME refer to the frame itself, "this side up". The arrow on the filter refers to air flow, which is downward.
Hope this helps.

I use Fram's Fresh Breeze cf10285. It contains carbon and baking soda to absorb odors. Walmart has them online for $13.88. Free shipping over $35 so buy three.

No, I don't play soccer!
Ray, I'm back to using Toyota filters. I can pick them up locally or online though I was able to get one from my dealer for a great price the last time I was there. On those, the arrows indicate which direction to install the filter ('up') whereas some others refer to air flow direction. Which reminds me I need to pick one up soon to replace after the leaves fall.

Cabin Filter - FRAM Fresh Breeze
Hi,
I want to install the Fram Fresh Breeze CF 10285 cabin air filter on my 2013 RX350. Can somebody please tell me what orientation should the arrow be facing ( Up or Down ) ? Should the charcoal side be facing up or down ? Directions are conflicting and confusing. Appreciate all the help. Thank you all.

Does the carbon side face up or down ? Fram website says to install with arrow facing down ( Carbon side up ) . What is the correct orientation /

Read the instructions. If the arrow is the airflow, then it should point down.

Air comes from the top. Carbon should be on the top.

Purolator cabin air filter HELP PLEASE!
The more I read the more confused I become. I have a Lexus RX350 2014. I went to replace the cabin air filter on my own for the first time. It was an OEM . Arrow was pointing up. Both sides were dirty!
I just purchased a Purolator filter. The arrow is labeled air flow. Shop suggested I install it the same as the arrow on the OEM. I have read different opinions in this forum. Someone PLEASE give me a definitive answer.
Is this particular filter's arrow that says" air flow" suppose to be facing up or down. Thanks for your help ahead of time. Also, what are consequences of it being in the wrong way?

Thank you!
Thank you for the confirmation! Filter arrow is now pointing downward with the wording "air flow" next to it. It was such an easy task to change the filter...maybe five minutes. It was the arrow determination that got me caught up since the OEM filter arrow was up next to the word ,UP". Sure would be nice if the manufacturers had consistent wording ...all is well now
Thanks again!
