Don't like that grill. Looks like the mouth of a manta ray drawing in krill.

Not a car you'd drive in the snow, so no need to worry about that gaping hole in the front acting like a snow plow.

Please Lexus don't put that on an updated RX450.

I hope they can tone it down a little bit, they got the contours good but how to make it as an accent to the car will be the challenge and needs creativity for the designers. One of our friend works for Acura and designs the interiors, I thought his job was awesome.

While the design exercise is nice the grill looks like it was designed by some kid at Braun

HAHAHA! I have to agree and I hope it's not going to be the new grill for all next generation models.

You can see the "style" on the new GS and upcoming LX. Thye call it a "spindle grill" and it will be adopted, albeit not as in your face as this one, across the Lexus line.

Your friend should get the person who designed that ugly nose on every Acura fired. It is hideous! Hopefully Lexus doesn't hire the same designer. The new style nose on the GS is OK but this one is getting a little aggressive for my taste.

Right, read this on another post and saw this pic:

Now I'm wondering what RX Gen 4 will look like.

Here is a thread with a possible look:

Based on what the LX and GS look like I would say this is gonna be close to reality.

I am puzzled that most if not all the comments toward the spindle grille are negative. I have to assume that Lexus must have done extensive marketing research to conclude the spindle grille will be liked by most people or else they wouldn't dare to boldly adopt to this grille design on all their future models. I guess future sales numbers will speak to the marketability of this new grille design; but then again, a consumer is NOT going to NOT buy a Lexus just because of this grille design because the grille is only part of an overall car theme or character that Lexus wants to project.

One would assume Acura did a similar exercise in marketing research before giving birth the their "shield" like makeover on the front of their vehicles. The redesign, in no uncertain terms, hurt sales and Acura is stepping back a bit on the overt door mirror they were placing on the front of their vehicles -

And what was the most cited deal breaker and a customer NOT buying an Acura?

http://rumors.automobilemag.com/surp...ker-11319.html

So I would say it is VERY possible for a customer not to buy any vehicle due to a design upgrade especially when you have Acura dealer history of trying to hide the prominence of the grill in the one above article.

So you're saying that if you were home shopping and you found a great deal on the home of your dreams in a great neighborhood but the front doors were all white with red candy cane stripes mandated by the home owners association, you'd buy there anyway ???

Sorry, just messing with ya . If I thought a car's grill made it butt ugly, I'd not have a big deal looking at other cars.
