My dealer has a ding person come in regularly. It is amazing what they can do. He even removed a foot long one on the upper part of my door! Now I just purchase the ding insurance for my cars--unlimited ding repair.

I had to let you know how this turned out. I found a paintless dent repair man that did a great job( I can't find the place) and he only charged me $40. The person that hit our car paid the $40. She will be more careful about parking in the future. My wife doesn't pull all the way in in the angled parking spots and the lady next to her pulls all the way in, so that when she opens her door it's in the clear. For sure, she will be more careful and I have to admire her for paying for her mistake. There are lots of people that wouldn't have done it.

It's usually one of a dozen things they try to sell you just before signing on the bottom line. The dealership's finance guy must have slipped up and forgot to tell you about it.

Bought the PDR insurance at time of sale, $300 for five years, unlimited ding removal. Wife wanted it, so she got it.

I bought a Ding repair insurance from the dealer when I bought the RX. But (knock on wood, no ding yet). I find that in dealerships, they call in a ding expert once in a while to repair dings. I saw this guy at a Mercedes Benz dealership and I asked him to fix my ding on another car. And he did a fine job. Ask your dealer if they have a guy like that.
