The 5000k have a little bit less light but nothing to get upset about, I certainly would not do the 6000k. These lights are pure white without any blue to them and no yellow. The reason I went with them is because of my daytime running lights I installed which remain on when the car is running, made the HID's look slightly yellow. Now they match.

Almost all switches and relays go thru the main ECU. That is why I tapped in where I did as this is the final leg of the circuit. No fuse problem at all, in fact I switched the door lights back to incandescent so they would match the foot well lights.

On another note I noticed today that the rear running lights are not LED. So that is my next project. The problem is finding a bulb bright enough to replace them. I had a few LED's laying around and tried them but they were not as bright as the OEM bulb. I have found a possible replacement and have them on order. To be continued.......

Is your DRL the high beam too? Is it HID?

^Oh yeah, totally forgot you had that beam. looks pretty cool. I'm saving up to replace our low beam halogen. Can't really get it soon enough coz wifey wants to upgrade her ring. SMH. Women. But it's cool, I kinda like what we picked.

Nice job and this lights have been already posted on another forum with a R as well like this

My question is: do you change your red light (back of the car) to led lights (only the stop light are red led and not the other ones, as it was with the rx 400h.

If yes, can you advise on the type you will use?
and pictures would be nice as usual.
thx
Al

I have the bulbs for the rear on order. They are regular colored LED's as there is no need for the red color. I will update when they arrive and are installed. I just bought 2 bulbs to start with until I make sure they are bright enough. I bought 2W bulbs currently there are 5W in place. There are 4 total on the rear.

PS Already changed the lower ones in the bumper, used some of my leftovers. Didn't care how bright they were.

Thanks MEP for this reply.
Please let me/us know the result with the 2w.
Do you suggest 2W instead of 5W as it is now?

Re the ones in the bumper, you are lucky in N.A. as in Europe/France, those lights are used for fog conditions only (which is rather rare basically). So I can change this unless it is possible to add second bulb (if enough place exisits) and if we can connect wire accordingly. And have no idea on what it can be done (unless to contact appropriate technicien).

Regarding the day lights (led added below , front of the car, can you send a picture for exact location (I went to a car tuning center close to my home and they have this (5 led row) but cost here with full installation is approx. 230 USD. How much for you?

Going from 5W to 2W because I am going from incandescent to LED. Usually you can do a 75% reduction in wattage when doing so. They do have some 4W ones just want to check what these 2W are like first.

Here are a couple pics of where I mounted the DRL's. I did have to cut into the black plastic, as you can see, to get them to fit. Did all the work myself so it was just the cost of the lights which were just under $50 usd.

Thanks for reply and pics.
Cost of led onlmy is less expensive in US, approx. 120 € or 140$ but there was no need to cut under the bumper, the black plastic, the led row model was parfectly dimensioned to fit where you have yours but jest between the small black plastic deflectors (horizontal thin palstic parts you have justly cut.

What about electrical wire and connectin to batterie? Where wire are running ?

Alpy

Look at this thread and it will show you all the versions I have had and the wiring. Also there are a couple wiring diagrams attached. I believe the best info is on page 2

MEP
thx but I doubt the wiring is the same between US version and Europe/french one.
In addition, I do not have a private garage (it's a co-owners garage for the residence I live and lighting is not enough bright for this kind of work, unfortunately.
That's why the tuning garage 400meters from home does this operation much easier than me.

I do prefer the latest you have now (latest posts above this page).

If you change rear red lamps by leds please send me pics that's what I will do 1st and how you access to the lamps

GoodWE to you and readers

What a let down that was. Got my new 2W bulbs for the rear and they were right on the verge of not being bright enough. Not only that but, the color was too blue and it gave the rear light a slight orange cast. I may give up on that one. I put the bulbs in the front running/ parking lights, works fine for there but it did lighten the orange color of them.

I have changed the turn signal bulbs over to LED and that too is a continuing work in progress. The load resistors are working fine but the light output is weak. My latest attempt is the 18 smd LED after trying another type. The 18 smd is better but still not sufficient for the rear, they are fine for the front. Will post pics when I get it right, if ever.

So I have now tried $23, supposedly 11W, turn signal bulbs and they are still not bright enough. They are OK but they are not what I would call bright. I will have to work on this one some more. There have got to be brighter bulbs out there.
