I encountered this where when I plug the ipod, it wouldn't read or "Error 1" message appears.

I called Lexus and they have no clue what it is. Googled everywhere and couldn't find any.

All I did was reset my ipod (160gb) by pressing Menu and center button and hold for >5sec until you see the apple logo and the error was fixed. Hope this helps or whoever googles it can see it.

The Lexus dealership should be able to find a service bulletin for this. My dealer did for an iPod USB AUX 3 error and fixed the issue.
