Default extended warranty pricing on Lexus website

So it looks like Lexus actually posts the suggested retail pricing for their extended warranties on their new and used cars. Please check out the link for those that are interested.

They do, but the dealers can negotiate the price. I was told (shown in the cost book at the dealer) that they have about 6-7 hundred dollars worth of wiggle room. I bought the 200,000 km 8 year warranty for $3250. I about 8 dealers and then went to mine and got the best deal. He showed me his cost was $3200 and the retail was $3999.

I think they mark those things up more than $600-$700. I think you should be able to cut those prices by at least half, especially on a Lexus or Toyota. Maybe on a BMW or Mercedes, it's $600-$700 but I'm pretty sure many Lexus owners do not use their extended warranties.

I can only tell you what I was shown. I called many Lexus dealers across the country and was given prices between $3400 and $3800 for the plan I wanted. I called Jerry at the Toyata store in Kansas and although he confirmed that he can not sell into Canada that the prices woiuld be in that ball park. I took this infor back to my dealer and was able to buy it for $3250 which I am told is $50 over what Lexus sells it to the dealer for.

Lexus does not care if dealer makes any money on the sale of it, but they wont give it away either. Remember it is sold to the dealer just like a car is. If the dealer chooses to sell for less than thier cost, that is thier choice but they can not go back to Lexus and say "hey they are not going to use it anyways, so why not give it to us for less"

Yes as long as the car is still within the warr. period it would qualify. Many people buy it just before the original one expires.
