...ahhhh!...I am in love again....
..yes it sounds rediculous at my age but after so many ownerships of SUV, cars in my life time, at 67 I am in love again...today I got my much desired 2012 RX 350 and I know it has only been a few hours, but it is as much if not more of what I wanted and expected....sorry people, I know is silly but I ahve always been a "car guy" with Fords and specially with Mustabgs (I do have an old one).......but.......sorry VIVA la japaneese!!!...as far as Lexus is concerned....ahhh...now I fell better....

Props to you and finding that feeling of loving a vehicle. I too have always been a car lover but it took me some time and making changes to the RX for me to love it. It was wifey's dream ride. You'll love Toyota and won't go back to anything, I didn't for 20 years now.
I'd still prolly get a car 5 years from now.

Congratulations and well done to you SVO - in this world of indifference it's becoming a rare treat to actually get something which does indeed live up to (and perhaps exceed) our expectations.

Congratulations on achieving your quest . Yep, this is a place for car lovers.
Tip; take your manuals to bed with you till you've gone over all the stuff new to you.

I tried that and put them under my pillow hoping to learn by osmosis. The only result was a sore neck the next morning so now they are on a shelf in the garage and I learned by playing around. Since I love pushing buttons and eventually trying to figure out how to undo things I mistakenly did this method works better for me

svofan, even us jaded longtime RX owners had our moments. The 3rd gen is pretty amazing. There's lots to learn but figuring it out can be fun too. And definitely post some pictures when you have a chance.

..you are all a great bunch of guys and gals.....as far as my wife is concerned..er....I thought she was going to either kill me...(it would have been less painfull)....or divorce me...what stopped her was the 45 yeras together...<S>....I trade in an Acura MDX 2011 with 17k miles.....her favorite saying is..." that thank God his passion is with cars and not women"...and at this point I just nodded my head since I truly know when to count my blessings that she is NOPT really inside my head...but is another ityem for another time...lol

Congratulations. I was almost that old when we bought our 2010 RX. It didn't take long for the wife to say that it was her car. She does let me drive it when we go somewhere together. In fact, I can't get her to drive when I'm with her. I think she likes to be chauffeured.

Before I purchased my RX, I took my fiance car shopping to look at various models. After test driving a ton of cars, she firmly declared that a car was simple transportation, and that she didn't care what I got. She liked the IS 250, the GS 350, the Infiniti G37x, and commented that all of them were pretty much the same. She stated that she didn't care if I bought a used Camry or Accord.
Fast forward to after the test drive in the RX 350, and she firmly declared that THIS was the car I needed to buy.
Its amazing how quickly a good car can change opinions.
