Do you notice the difference with AFS?

AFS is more noticeable on the passenger side than driver side. The angle is wider. Also the movement is seamless compared to the previous gen RX. I agree with Shane, getting the HIDs make it worth having and IIRC comes in the package with heated and cooled seats.

Just trying to decide as I do mostly Chicago suburban driving. Looking a t a 2012 RX. I have never had NAV before and apparently every car shipped with the package that has the adaptive headlights, anyway between that and the NAV package it's adding about $55.00 per month to a 36 month lease payment. I just can't seem to get settled on that extra $660.00 per year to rent navigation.

Its very noticeable. I do alot of city driving around the evening hours and its very helpful even with the street lights. I did notice that the driver side one turns alot more then the passenger one. Why is that? I bought the car used though.

AFS has been around since mid 2k on Lexus models and they are awesome. I think the AFS on Gen3RX are more piviting than other Lexus models I had. It will pivit more on lower speed and its perfect companion on small country/neighborhood streets where there are no street lights.
Driver side pivits more by design. there is a technical note somewhere on this site.

I can tell you that in my RX I noticed the AFS immediately. The first night I drove it home (last week) I could see them work and I didn't even know the car had them.
My BMW (which I've had for a month) also has them though honestly I hardly notice them on that car.
Overall so far I haven't driven either car enough in the dark to notice if they are useful or a gimmick.
I actually started this same thread on a BMW forum because I wasn't sure what exaxctly they were supposed to do and if mine were working correctly.
Now as I said in the RX they are much more noticable.
The repsonses over there were similar to the responses so far here: everyone seems to love them.
