Those dead silence from the 1st gen Lexus does not exist anymore. It used to be that one couldn't tell if the engine was running at idle on Lexus without looking at the tach.

I searched and found that quite a few owners felt in similar way (Sorry mods. Should have searched first before posting. Please merge if needed.) It is definitely a nice car but the engine noise is very noticeable when starting to accelerate from a stop. I compare to different vehicles (08 RX, 13 GS and 14 GX) but mainly the RX since they are in the same category. I think the isolation could be better. When cruising, yes, it's no longer noticed.
