Noticed a rattle in the steering column at low speeds. Decided to bring it in and also have the radio checked since it was acted funny ejecting cd's on it's own. They ended up ordering a new radio and parts for the steering column. They must have changed the entire column because the parts alone was $2600 with another $280 for labor. Sure glad it was still under warranty. It's a 2010 with 30,000 miles. Service lady said the steering had a TSB. Last year it was in for excessive wind noise and the bluetooth reception. Absolutely true about buying first year models before the bugs are ironed out.

Im glad they are taking care of everything under warranty. I agree about buying first year models. Its always best to wait until they work out all the bugs, but I bought a 2010 too.

MIne is in for the steering column noise right now is been there for over a day now, 2nd time I bring, first time they thought it was the steering wheel column and greased the boot, didn't fix it. The sound is coming right from the top of the steering wheel airbag housing, is pretty annoying as you can hear it and feel it all the way on the steering wheel rim. There was also a loud metal rubber squeak noise coming from the real wheel passenger every time a bump was hit and could only hear it with the windows open. Same milage as yours 30,000.

My trade of the 08 RX for the 2010 RX has gone horrible. I have had the 08 RX for ever and never had a single issue with it. I trade into a CPO 2010 RX last Monday and the car has been the shop twice and still is. It was for the steering wheel noise, they grease the boot the first time. Noise still there. Brought it on Monday to the Lexus service, they gave me a loaner this time, Tuesday comes nobody calls me by 5pm so I call to see what is going on, nobody knows. Wednesday I get a call from Master Tech that they are holding the car till next week because they don't know what is causing the noise, they called Japan don't know either have to wait for the engineers to get back at them which will be around Friday or Monday so if they can fix it will have the car sometime mid week, it is not the common steering wheel loose nut that they can't re tighten and have to replace the whole steering wheel column. This noise is coming from the top part of the steering wheel where the airbag and horn is.
Another noise developed on the rear passenger wheel well when going over bumps and told them about it too, sounds like a leaky shock.
The quality of Lexus has gone down the drain, I drove the car less than 50 miles and it was supposed to be CPO, working with the sales manager to see if they can do a good will exchange since I haven't even driven the car because its been on the shop since the day after I bought it, so this month I will basically pay Lexus Financial to drive one of their loaners. Thinking of calling Lexus corporate and getting some kind of backing up on the exchange, what you guys think?

100% perfection is never possible, unfortunately it sounds like you found this out the hard way. I would see about an exchange especially since you have hardly driven it. Lexus is pretty good about backing their product and hopefully they will back you up on this. Keep us posted and good luck.

This noise you hear was it a rattle, reason I ask mine has a electrical noise or buzzing coming from down near the pedals almost as something is adjusting. This sound familiar or any input?

I have this issue on my 2010 RX, but only going from Drive to Park. I've informed my service guy about it and they've tried putting some sort of lubricant on it, but the squeaky/rubbing sound came right back, so I still haven't been able to resolve that yet.
