Leather color choice consensus

Yup, I agree. I am only in my mid 50's, but consider myself old when it comes to nearly everyone else on these forums.. I've been really happy with gray interior for the last 7 years in my RX, and am just as excited to get back to parchment in my new 2013 arriving next month.

Obviously, I was drawn to the black interior on my '10 RX, and also on the '07 RX that I had. I just thought it looked really nice, especially with the cherry wood or walnut colored steering wheel and wood kit. I also think the gray interior is classy with the espresso wood accents. By the way, it looks like you only get black wood with the black interior or gray interior on the 2013 RX, and I'm not too keen on that.

I almost went with the gray interior on tungsten pearl. But I stuck with black because of the weather. And I would have loved the darker espresso wood. The current brown walnut looks dated to me.

Anita, the espresso wood with black would not be my choice but you can get it on the 2013 as you already know. It is interesting to see everyone's choices and opinions. It is nice to have choices. As my Dad used to say, "One man's junk is another man's treasure." We are all different and that is fine. So......when are you going to "pull the pin" on a new one?

I'm glad Lexus is finally giving us more interior colors and wood options to choose from. I don't think there's any wrong color combo on the RX. They all have their appeal. I say go with whatever you like. Nothing wrong with that. As for me, I'll keep the black interior with dark walnut for a while longer. I only buy next gens, not refreshes

I didn't think the Smoky Granite came with the parchment interior. If so, I don't understand that one, as gray wouldn't go with beige(??). My RX is Smoky Granite with black interior and the chrome wheels.

I was shocked too. I actually saw 2 that had that combo and guess what? They are still sitting on those dealers lots. I guess no one likes that combo.

...and just to show we have lots of differing tastes and I'm glad Lexus gives us choices, my special-ordered 2013 RX450h that will be delivered next month is Nebula Gray Pearl with Parchment interior. Gray interior was my first choice until I found the 450h, unlike the 350, is two-toned, with only seats and arm rests in gray leather just like the saddle implementation... carpet and complete doors are black unlike the mostly gray interior I like a lot in my present 2006 RX400h. Throwing me over the top was my not preferring the ebony/espresso wood trim that now comes with the 2013 black and gray interiors, and owning a creme colored golden retriever that rides in the back seat on her canine cover and sheds A LOT all over the place.

I was told by the dealer that one of the reasons they went to a lighter gray (from Smoky Granite Mica to Nebula Gray Pearl) in 2012/13 was so that the lighter interiors (like parchment) would look good.
I just bought a 2013 Nebula Gray with Parchment and it looks great. I'm not sure I'd like this interior with a darker exterior color (like Smoky Granite Mica or Obsidian).
I was originally looking for a light gray interior, but the lack of contrast with the new espresso wood looked kind of cheap to me. I think the Parchment looks much classier. The new saddle tan interior is also attractive, but just not for me...
