Default Got my 2013 RX350

Hey guys,

So about a few weeks back, I posted a thread about my dilemma and I thank those people who provided me with good info. After going back and forth in my head about the RX or the '12 JGC, I've finally bought and took delivery of the RX just yesterday in the afternoon, took off all the plastic covers like a kid opening his xmas presents.

I got the fully loaded package (different from the US), with DVD, NAV, Electronic Sunshade (not the moonroof). However unlike the US where you can custom build yours and have it delivered, here the dealers order a set package according to the country's, region's taste. Mine or all the fully loaded models do not come with Radar cruise control, Pre-crash brake, and air suspension.
I asked them why and they said that the price would increase further that the people here wouldn't pay all of that for the RX, plus the air suspension would be costly to repair when broken.

So I'm happy with what I got, everytime I look at it it keeps looking better and better. I love it and feels a lot different to my 07 RX.

I have a question to ask, when you all got your new cars, did the dealers ever tell you to not go over 50 mph till you get to around 600 miles for your first service? I looked at the manual and couldn't find it.

Last of all, here are pics of my new ride: Mercury Grey Mica with Saddle Tan interior

Great looking ride -- and one of the first to post pictures here with saddle interior. Super.

Here in the US, the recommendations are different -- it's not so much about speed as it is "don't over-do it and mix up your driving style for the first 1000 miles". Check your manual (sorry! I know it's HUGE!) -- the US version is in section 2.1 "Driving Procedures", page 193 for the RX350:

Breaking in your new Lexus
To extend the life of the vehicle, observing the following precautions is recommended:
●For the first 200 miles (300 km):
Avoid sudden stops.
●For the first 500 miles (800 km):
Do not tow a trailer.
●For the first 1000 miles (1600 km):
• Do not drive at extremely high speeds.
• Avoid sudden acceleration.
• Do not drive continuously in low gears.
• Do not drive at a constant speed for extended periods.

...and FYI, here in the US, our first scheduled service as part of warranty isn't until 5,000 miles. Used to be 1,000 years ago, but that's changed over time.

I'm really liking that saddle interior!! First I've seen of that. Congrats. GREAT choice over the jeep. Fortunately, I was able to talk my daughter and son-in-law out of getting the jeep also. They are loving their RX.

You probably made the right choice in getting the RX over the JEEP. I just bought a 2012 RX350, and previiously bought a 2011 JEEP Grand Cherokee (essentially the same as the 2012). The fit and finish and initial quality control is much better on my Lexus as opposed to the JEEP. I guess one would expect this, and, yes, it does vary by individual cars. Chrysler/JEEP are trying to make a comeback and they have made progress, but they have a ways to go, in my opinion.

Beautiful color combination. Just noticed it is an F Sport, right? Or is that a cosmetic option that Lexus offers?

Beautiful Ride! It looks like you've got the F-Sport appearance package?? If so, it looks fabulous! I'm also liking the saddle interior.

NOT the f-sport appearance pkg, just a dark color on the vehicle; "F" is flat black down there!!

Congratulations on a beautiful ride.
i hope you don't mind, but those floor mats need some changing!
it's unsafe to actually put one over the LEXUS supplied mats, which are hooked to the floor.

Thank you all for your kind words. I am loving the car every time I look at it and ride it. Love the adaptive lights, HUDs!

Today is day 3 with the car, I tried on the ventilated seats, cooled to level 3 but I don't really find it "cool". Wondering if this just takes time since it's still new, or if there's something wrong with it.

Thanks! I did go through the manuals, and boy was it thick like a novel! Plus, over here we get two of each, one English and one Arabic. I'll not necessarily drive exactly at or below 50 mph. I'll drive normally without extreme high speeds.

This is my 2nd RX and I don't remember if they told me the same thing when I got the first one.

"great choice over the jeep". I think so too! I figured I don't need a 5.7l Hemi unless I had loads to tow something which I don't, otherwise will cost me of going to get gas of often. The Laredo and Limited options here aren't that nice.
